Kids Ear Training – Lesson 5

Course #2: Ear Training V360 Gold - Kids Kids Ear Training - Lesson 5

LESSON SUMMARY:

In this lesson, we practice singing the solfège scale both up and down, learning how to reverse the order of the notes while using hand signs for each step. This helps build coordination between our voices, ears, and hands as we explore the full staircase of sound from low Do to high Do and back down again.

Today we’re doing something super fun—we’re singing the solfège staircase in reverse, from high Do all the way back down to low Do! First, we imagine each note as a step that takes us higher into the sky until we reach the top with high Do. From there, we carefully walk back down using the same notes in reverse: Ti, La, Sol, Fa, Mi, Re, Do. We practice going up and down several times, making our voices smooth and steady like climbing and descending real stairs.

Then we add hand signs to the mix, turning our singing into a full-body musical workout. It takes focus and coordination to go backwards, but it’s a great way to strengthen our ear and memory. We take it slow and repeat the pattern until it feels natural to move both voice and hands in sync. With every step, we become more confident solfège singers, ready for whatever melody comes our way!
